Absolutely Great First Service Day

I was assigned to work with Tyler, Janelle, Haylen and Jamis.  It was great!  Each of us adults had excellent calls and people we need to go back to.  One man said he is coming to our meeting on Sunday, and he told us where his sons live so we can go talk to them also.  Janelle's young woman seems like someone she will start a study with because she listened so attentively.  Janelle asked her when she would like her to come back and she told her 4pm tomorrow.  How great is that!!!

Well, Jehovah God knows we are serious because the one and only day for the next two weeks forecast for rain was our first one.  And wow did it rain.  And wow did the roads ever get interesting.  I was very happy that Tyler was driving his 4 wheel drive.  But we had a discussion about courage on the way up to the territory, and we really feel blessed for our efforts.

During lunch break one brother caught three good sized fish and they all got ate for dinner.  Jamis thought this was fantastic and tomorrow is throwing his rod into his dad's truck.

Lastly I included a pic of a couple who wanted to join the team but had no RV so they bought these window things for their car and slept in it.  They set up a tent for their clothing and items.  Where there is will, there is a way.

The day went very fast, and now looking forward to tomorrow.

Bump Bump We're Here

Boy that road is rough on the way up!  Have to keep the eyes peeled for holes that come out of no where it seems, or dips that I have no idea how they could have occurred.    ...We arrived about noon.  Two of the team came in last night so it was great to see their smiling faces/  It is hot right now so  I draped a tarp around the deck.  The suspended awning idea is working great to take the heat off the back.  Weird moment this afternoon.  I look out the window, and see this little dog with the others.  I think, "oh that is so cute, someone brought their dog this year too, and it looks just like Harvey."  Then I realize it IS HARVEY!!!   He had jumped off the deck and gone on a visiting tour of the campground. :-(  Anyway, tomorrow meeting in campground.  Our team leader Jeff was able to secure a place for the meeting next Sunday so we are putting stickers on the invites to hand out this week.  Will be a great start. :-)

We Made It To Meadow Lake!🙌 Pic below.

I have a rule that I have to stop driving at 3pm every day.  Gives time to chill and get set up and take a nice long walk before dinner.  I watched my odometer flip over to 1000 miles about 1 hour south of here.  I think that is 1600kms.  Tomorrow morning we will take off and get there by noon.  I was thinking today of all the things I  am thankful for, and this camper is one.  It has simplified things and made them easier.  Much easier to work on the road now too.  And I love being able to cook anywhere.  Okay, everyone take good care til the next update.

World's Biggest Egg

Or so they claim. 😏  However, it is really big, and it rotates kinda like the space needle which is cool.  Was bushed while driving so slept here for a couple hours.  Awesome huge park for walking pups.  And when I woke up there was a farmers market in the field so walked around there for a bit.  Overnighting in lloydminster walmart.  Lots of RVs and great internet so watching a little TV.  Will get last items needed before taking off.  Fields are bright yellow and sky is blue as driving so the scenery is great.

Literature Packaging Day

Today is a very important day.  Our team is packaging the literature for going north.  We are meeting at the Kingdom Hall in Evansburg and working til it is done.  As you can see from the final report last year it is worth it.  Lots of work for good results.  Very thankful Jehovah is allowing me to do this.

Overnighting at Walmarts Is Awesome

So many have heard a rumour that all Walmarts don't allow overnighting anymore.  Not true.  Only a few. Most are just great and have the best internet.  This one in Hinton has Shaw go WiFi so you can even watch movies in your unit, or work online as I do.  If you ever want to see where they are Rvparky.com will list them.  Monster storm last night so moving slow and reading right now.  Was at the rec centre here swimming and soaking in hot tub.

Woahhhh, For Real

Unlike the figures at wax museums the figures here look like their subjects.  Harvey went into full attack mode on the grizzly and the mountain goat.

This is probably the most awing place I have ever camped.  This is our view.  Speaks to the artistic and incredible power of our Creator.  It cost $15.  I know there are many free pull offs for overnighting but being by myself, if a bear does show I like the idea of having screaming assistance of fellow campers.  😀

The bearextender is doing its job too.  Look how far away I am from the hub.  With no BEx no signal.  With plugged in full signal.

Oh ya, look at the pic of global warming.  Another few years and this will be the Columbia sand fields.

Okay we are on our way soon.

No Way! Not another one!

Pearl's words as we stopped for yet another walk.  She ran to the backseat so I couldn't reach her.  The North Saskatchewan River truly is gorgeous.  We are now overnighting at the Icefields visitor centre.

Cheaper in Lake Louise

Gas is 15 cents cheaper in the park than Golden.  Yayyy!  We stayed overnight in L Louise overflow.  It is basically a parking lot of RVs. However, if a person is traveling economically it is awesome.  The ranger stopped a warned us about big grizzlies in the area, so I did get my bear spray out of the cab...to look at as I drank mom's wine.  On the way we stopped at several rest areas and did walks and pup dips as it was 39 degrees.  This morning we got to the lake Louise parking lot before the zoo started.  Was there at 7 and found the perfect spot to park for our morning walk.  CART WORK bros were already there.  From Calgary congregation.  2 hour drive to get there, 4 hour shift.  What a cool day in service that would be!  Anyway, Pearl and Harvey are tuckered from morning walk so will now start driving toward Jasper .  Staying at visitor centre at icefields tonight, but lots of walks between.

Love to all!   D, H & P
